Bio

Hi, my name is Junqing Qian, I also go by Jenn, a visiting assistant professor in pure math in the department of mathematics & statistics at the University of New Mexico. My mentors are Prof. Alex Buium and Prof. Hongnian Huang.

I graduated with a Ph.D. in math from the Math department at the University of Connecticut. My advisor was Prof. Damin Wu. My research interest is geometry and its connection with number theory in general, especially differential geometry, arithmetic differential geometry, complex function theory, and covering spaces.

Before I came to UConn, I graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) with a B.S. in math from the School of Gifted Young in July 2014. Earlier in my life, I was professionally trained to become a pianist from a young age until the start of high school. That was a very interesting experience which I am proud of.
